If “Type A” Personality means somebody is aggressive, impatient and forceful, you might say that my personality is “Type Z”

For those who don’t know me, let me introduce myself; I arrived on the Gold Coast back in 1984 with my family, and attended Merrimac High School and went on to study a Diploma in Architecture. After living here for 35 years, I know the coast well, and have seen many changes. As an Architect, I worked on a number of famous high-rises as well as well-known resorts and 5 star hotels along the coastline.

I have also owned and operated a large manufacturing business before returning to the residential building industry back in 2011. When it comes to the building industry, I’ve seen it all.

The Gold Coast is basically a large country town, and a persons’ reputation is everything. So when you operate your own business here, doing the right thing matters. That’s not just marketing hype or a sales pitch, I believe that.

My business philosophy then (and still now) was to build a company that would provide a livelihood for my family and for others while positively impacting our customers and staff in a beneficial way. It sounds a bit “touchy feely”, but it was true then, and it’s still true today. We really, truly, honestly thrive on helping people.

I started this company because I love what renovations can do to homes and the people who live in them. I’ve created, and am part of a dream team of professionals who focus on two things. Quality work and customer satisfaction. Renew has completed major projects and we boast nearly 100% customer satisfaction rate in an industry notorious for complaints. So we must be doing something right.

I’ll be honest, as a small business owner, I have a lot of time, money and sleepless nights invested in this business, and a lot to lose if things aren’t done right. Most business books talk about “Type A” personalities who will the business to success. My approach has been to give homeowners my expertise and wide range of products in a low-key, no-pressure manner. I then take responsibility for each project, from initial design consultation through to completion of each professional renovation.
